The board of trustees for a public faculty district in Texas modified its dress code to include facial area masks in a bid to get all-around Gov. Greg Abbott’s ban on encounter mask mandates.
“The Board of Trustees is worried about the wellbeing and safety of its learners and workforce. The Board believes the dress code can be used to mitigate communicable health and fitness concerns, and as a result has amended the PISD costume code to shield our college students and employees,” the Paris Impartial University District claimed in a statement Tuesday.
The district included that Abbott does not have the authority “to usurp” the board’s “special electrical power and responsibility to govern and oversee the administration of the general public educational facilities of the district.”

The district’s shift arrives as other pink states have banned mask needs in faculties, including in Florida, where by the condition board of education and learning voted unanimously on Tuesday to sanction two community university districts that are mandating mask sporting in defiance of Gov.
